The Fabric Patch was opened in October 1999 by a mother/daughter team. At the time, Cindi was still working part time as a Nurse Practitioner and Brianna was 6; but they spent weekends at the shop teaching classes and helping quilters use their long arm machine (they credit themselves with being the first shop to "rent out" a long arm machine). By 2001 they were publishing shop label patterns, in 2003 they added a yarn shop, called "Two Sticks and a String" and in 2006 Cindi quit work at the clinic and joined the staff at the quilt shop full time. In 2007 they became the first Innova dealer and this year both Brianna and Cindi will have books coming out. An innovative shop with new ideas and a quilting culture led by a 17 year old girl, you really have to stop in. We have over 5000 bolts of fabric of all styles, over 1900 books, a notion room with free demos and over 2000 labels in our yarn shop. And because Cindi thinks everyone should be able to afford to quilt, our average price per yard is $ 7.50. Business hours are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday - Friday; 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday. Rent the Innova for a dayIf you have a completed quilt top and would like to finish it yourself by quilting it, you can! Call, e-mail, or come in and schedule a day to come and spend the day with us quilting your quilt. You have the machine until 10am-5pm, we'll be helping you the entire time. You can do as many quilts as you have time for. It's .99/sq./ft. Here's the math: Length x Width divided by 144 = ? x .99 = cost of quilting. Rosalie Dace coming in August!! Private ClassesIf you knit or crochet and would like to take a class that isn't scheduled let us know. We can arrange a class that works for you but we must have at least three people to do the class. We'll post it on the in shop and on line bulletin and find some more people who are interested. Specially arranged classes will cost .00 per person, and be either in the morning or afternoon. Cindi is on the mend!! Many of you have heard about Cindi's horrible car accident. She hit a patch of black ice on January 18th and rolled her truck twice. She broke her right clavicle and her back at T12. She is at home healing, and expects to have no permanent damage. She is still fairly immobile, but expects to be back up and around soon, and thinks she will be back to work in April. She is able to use her laptop and would love to "visit".
