Bailey's Illusion Pattern
This is a deceptively easy quilt pattern. The modern design appeals to young and old alike. Perfect gift for the graduating senior. The twin size is long enough to fit an extra long twin bed. Works well with a focus fabric and four additional fabrics for intertwining strips. The baby size is a great way to use up left-overs from other quilt projects or from your stash. Instructions are easy to follow with illustrations. It's all in the placement of two basic blocks. Pattern revised to no include Queen and King sizes.
Pattern History: I had only sketched this quilt out when I received my niece's graduation announcement. I thought it would be the perfect quilt for her. When her mom sent me the color scheme of orange and grey with teal accents, I felt a little challenged to find the right fabric combination. Once I had the fabric selected, I suddenly realized that I had not actually finished the pattern. So back to the design sketch to calculate and figure out how to put it together the easiest possible way. It's been tested by both beginner and advanced quilters.
Originally, I had planned to make it in four shades of grey for the intertwining lines and yellow in the centers and borders, and although that color combination was delayed I was not disappointed with the outcome. I have since taught this in a class setting and the variety of color combinations chosen by the students were stunning.
I would love to see what you create with it!
