Brittany's Hope Dec. 2022

Nathan Tindell is currently in his Senior year at Elizabethtown College and is actively fundraising for a service trip he will be taking this December to visit Vietnam from Dec. 27th through Jan. 11th, with the non-profit organization, Brittany’s Hope. This organization works with Elizabethtown College’s Occupational Therapy Program, and they will be sending 17 students to actively work with children with disabilities who live in orphanages across the country. The culture in Vietnam is very family-oriented, but children with disabilities are often seen as a sign of bad luck upon one’s family, so often they are orphaned. During their time there, they will be directly giving assistance to orphaned children throughout the country by providing food relief, construction, adaptive therapy equipment and many other needed items

He is asking for your help through a donation to support the service projects his class and he will be completing on the trip. These donations can take many forms, and every dollar will make a major impact on the individuals they are working with. As the current president of HOPE club at Elizabethtown College, which directly does fundraising for this trip, it would make an extra-large difference to him if you are willing to donate to any of the projects they have planned. 100% of the donations go towards projects they will be completing.

If you are willing to donate to this cause, please visit https://www.brittanyshope.org/events/trip/. When you get the page don't click the donate button at the top, but instead scroll down that page which will allow you to read more about the Vietnam service trip, provide more information about the organization Brittany’s Hope, and allow you to make your donation.

Thank you for your time!!

Please feel free to help this young man and his group through several opportunities and links.
Nathan is the son of a friend of ours and we are happy he reached out to us for help. Kids helping kids at Christmas warms my heart.
Our donate button will be available until 12/25 and 100% of the proceeds with go directly to Nathan's fundraiser!
We will be matching the Fabric Patch contributions, dollar for dollar.

Winterfest Dec. 2022

Winterfest is Soap Lake's Annual Christmas Event always held on the first Saturday in December. It includes shopping, Turkey Bingo, Library Book Sale, free Cocoa and Cookies from the Nursing Home residents, canned food drive for the food bank, Toy Drive for Frosty Friends, Carolers, a Christmas play at the Theater, a music program from the school and best of all..... Santa arrives on a big Fire Truck.... with presents FOR EVERY CHILD!!

The event is planned and organized by the Chamber and funded by the City's tourism funds, but the presents can only be "donated" by outside efforts as these cannot be purchased with public funds. We make it our mission at The Fabric Patch to purchase and wrap 500 brand new gifts for all five of the age groups to ensure EVERY child gets a special gift from Santa. We also have a basket for Mrs. Clause filled with new hats and gloves in case she wants to hand those out as she sees the need.

We really appreciate our generous friends that seize the opportunity to help us in our benevolent endeavors. If you'd like to contribute to this event, our goal is to add $2400 to this fund. Any excess will stay in the fund for next year (it takes about $3200 each year). Every donation via the button below will be rewarded with a "ticket" that goes into our drawing for a "Best of Soap Lake Basket". Santa will draw the winning ticket after he is done with his gifting duties on December 3rd. We will post the winner here, and a short Winterfest video on our YouTube page. Go check it out after the 3rd... here is the video from 2021.

Thanks for hanging out with us, thank you so much for your donations and have a VERY Merry Christmas!!

2022 Update!!!

Once again... our generous Fabric Patch friends and family stepped up with over $3800 in donations (117 donations for $3030 and $790 received in quilt sales)!!! We spent $2349 to purchase 490 presents and passed out 389 on Saturday. We also had enough money to gift a pair of gloves and a hat to EVERY child. We took excess presents to the food bank on Saturday, and will be using the remaining $1500 to purchase toys for the 250 low income children between the ages of birth and 12 (Frosty Friends Program), and purchasing extra bags of dog food for the local animal rescue Rock Bottom Rocker Pet Pantry. Thank you SO MUCH for caring about our little community that means so much to us. When you come to visit, Cindi LOVES to give tours of her favorite place on earth... Soap Lake Washington. She'd love to show you around!

Merry Merry Christmas!! Here are the highlights from 2022 Winterfest.
Thank you for making it happen!!
